Clinical Pilates at Ringwood Sports Medicine

Clinical Pilates is a highly effective exercise system focused on improving core stability, muscle strength, endurance, flexibility, and coordination. Our core and stability exercise classes emphasise correct posture and optimal movement patterns, it enhances biomechanics to help you move more efficiently and reduce injury risk.

Classes may include mat work using small equipment like bands and balls, as well as sessions on specialised Pilates apparatus such as reformers, trapeze tables, and more.

Who Are Clinical Pilates Classes For?

Our classes are designed and led by Physiotherapists and Accredited Exercise Physiologists. Programs are tailored specifically for individuals with current or past injuries or pain, as well as those seeking to improve overall fitness and performance.

Common reasons to join include:

  • Neck, upper back, or shoulder pain
  • Lower back and pelvic pain
  • Hip discomfort or dysfunction
  • Recovery from surgery (spinal, hip, shoulder, knee)
  • Pre- and post-natal care, including pelvic floor retraining
  • Degenerative joint conditions
  • Postural imbalances and flexibility limitations
  • Injury prevention and athletic conditioning
  • General wellbeing and fitness enhancement

Why Choose Clinical Pilates?

Pain and injury can disrupt the normal function of muscles, affecting how you move. Even when pain subsides, muscle control and strength often do not fully recover without targeted rehabilitation. Clinical Pilates restores motor control and muscular strength, addressing dysfunctional movement patterns to reduce the chance of future injury or pain returning.
